Concrete Block & Bricks
CORLETTS offers a complete range of blocks, both hollow and solid, and bricks. All are manufactured in our dedicated facility here at Ballaharra Quarry using only the best aggregates. Although this facility was installed some 20 years ago it is far from old hat, we are always looking for ways to update the system and improve the quality of the product. All of our concrete products have to pass several quality checks before they are released for sale as well as being batch tested in our on-site laboratory. Sustainability is a key factor at CORLETTS, so across our product range we use 40% recycled aggregates and our concrete blocks are themselves recyclable.
Solid Concrete Blocks
CORLETTS concrete blocks are
cast in steel moulds on HDP pallets and compacted by vibration.We use the very latest in vibration technology and batch mixing controls to
ensure a uniform density throughout the mould giving consistent quality. As a
result we are able to achieve the high strengths required for certain
applications
CORLETTS dense aggregate
building blocks are suitable for load bearing and non-load bearing walls above
and below D.P.C. level in all types of buildings. The blocks possess excellent
sound insulation properties and their
inherent thermal mass acts as a heat store and can achieve ‘U’ values of better
than 0.60W/m²K with most cavity
insulants.
Cellular and Hollow Blocks
In response to recent Health & Safety initiatives CORLETTS now manufacture cellular and hollow blocks. Manufactured in exactly the same way as solid blocks to ensure the same finish and consistency, a consistency that would be difficult to equal with products manufactured for furnace bottom ash, they provide the same or very similar performance characteristics as solid blocks but with the advantage of having a lower unit weight.
Concrete Bricks
CORLETTS currently offer three types of concrete brick and 'off the shelf' units, but if you have a special requirement or need Our bricks to match another kind, then Our sales team will be more than happy to help! All Our bricks are made to the same exact standards as Our blocks.
Common Bricks
These are manufactured in a range of strengths, these bricks may be used either for the main body of a construction, or used to course in with our concrete blocks. Our Common Bricks are regular in shape and have clean crisp arrises.

Facing Bricks
Developments in colour pigments in recent years have, for the first time, enabled concrete brick manufacturers to produce high quality facing bricks which can realistically compare with the appearance of traditional clay facings. Concrete Facings are now widely used as an attractive alternative to clay, at a fraction of the cost.
We manufacture Facings in a range of six plain colours – Buff, Charcoal, Bracken, Rowan, Peat, Cinnamon and two multicolours – Rustic and Tuscan.

Engineering Strength Bricks
A high strength frogged concrete brick meeting Department of Infrastructure requirements for use in drainage and associated groundwork, manufactured specifically for use in manholes and inspection chambers.

All CORLETTS bricks and blocks are manufactured from the earth's natural aggregates, acknowledged to be among the most durable known to man. The composition of this raw material, which conforms to BS EN 12620:2002+A12003, gives the finished product (manufactured to BS EN 771-3 2003) a superior and consistent chemical stability free from deleterious substances
